Vacancy for a Parish Councillor

The Parish Council has a vacancy for a councillor to represent the Bledlow Ridge Ward.

The role of a councillor is varied and involves representing the needs and interests of local residents and groups, contributing to decisions on local services, collaborating with Buckinghamshire Council, and progressing projects for the future of the community.

Meetings of the Council are held once a month, and acting as a councillor typically requires a commitment of about 10 hours per month.

The Council intends to fill this vacancy by co-option at the next full council meeting on Monday 8th August 2022.  Expressions of interest should be addressed to the clerk and are invited from anyone who would like to be considered for co-option to the council before 28th July.

To be eligible, prospective councillors must be:

  • A UK or Commonwealth citizen; or be a citizen of the Republic of Ireland: or be a citizen of another Member State of the European Union
  • At least 18 years old
  • An elector of the local council; or in the past 12 months to have occupied land or other premises in the area the council serves (as owner or tenant; or work in the area the council serves as your principal or only place of work; or live within three miles of the council’s boundary)
